Terms of use
Last updated 4 November 2026
Short version: train sensibly, listen to your body, and don’t blame the flame. Almost Fire is run by David Gibbon in Australia. By using it you agree to these terms.
Training is at your own risk
Almost Fire and Stoke give general strength-training and nutrition guidance. They are not a doctor, physio or dietitian, and nothing in the app is medical advice or a diagnosis. Check with a health professional before you start, especially if you have an injury, a condition or are coming back from time off. Stop a set or session when the app or your body tells you to, including for sharp pain, swelling or worsening symptoms.
Stoke adjusts your plan automatically from what you log, and reviews it with you every Sunday. Those adjustments are suggestions, not instructions. Use a weight you can lift with good form; you choose it, and you are responsible for that choice.
Stoke is an AI
Stoke is an AI coach. It can be wrong. Check loads, exercises and food numbers before you rely on them, and use your judgement under the bar.
Your account
You need to be 16 or over. Keep your sign-in safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used it. Your training data is yours; you can delete it any time (see the privacy policy).
Fair use
Don’t misuse the app: no breaking it, scraping it, reselling it, or sending Stoke anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.
Crews
A crew is a small group of people who invited each other. What you post there (captions, comments and photos) must be yours to share and must not be abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual, violent, threatening or unlawful. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive people.
Posts and comments go through an automatic filter before they appear. On any crew-mate’s post or comment, tap “…” or Report to report it or block them. A report hides it from you straight away, and we review every report within 24 hours: we remove content that breaks these terms and can remove the person who posted it from their crew. Blocking someone means neither of you sees the other’s posts, comments or cheers, and you can’t end up in the same crew. You can unblock people in Settings.
The Stronger Guarantee
Yearly plans (Founder, Early bird and full price) come with The Stronger Guarantee. If you log 2 or more sessions a week in at least 10 of your first 12 weeks, and fewer than two of your main lifts are stronger at the end of them, your next year is free.
Your 12 weeks start the day your yearly plan starts, free week included. Stronger means a higher estimated one-rep max on the main lifts (presses, rows, squats, hinges and deadlifts), worked out from the sets you log in the app: your best in weeks 11 and 12 against your best in week 2, or in the first week you log that lift, up to week 6. Workouts imported from other apps don’t count, and the sets must be ones you really lifted. A week in which Stoke pauses your progression for pain or swelling counts as a week done. Never train through a symptom to meet the guarantee.
The free year is applied before your plan renews: on iPhone as an App Store offer, on the web as a credit on your next renewal. It’s a year of the same plan, not a refund, and it has no cash value. It covers your first 12 weeks once, and lapses if you cancel before it’s applied. It adds to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and doesn’t limit them.
The app itself
We’re improving Almost Fire constantly, so features may change or stop. We provide it as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can’t be excluded.
Apple
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its support.
